Healthy Starbucks Drinks

Unfortunately, most of the popular Starbucks drinks have an alarmingly high amount of sugar in them. That can be bad for the waistline. Good news though, I have devised a list of some healthy Starbucks drinks you can order that won’t leave you feeling unsatisfied.

                Iced coffee with nut milk

You can spice this one up by adding sugar free vanilla or sugar free cinnamon dolce syrup and add almond milk instead of cream. Also, adding some cinnamon powder at the top to add extra flavor and sweetness without adding sugar.

Plain latte with almond or coconut milk

All lattes at Starbucks are espresso and 2 percent milk as default.  If you are ordering anything other than a plain latte then it’s most likely full of sugary sweeteners.  A way to avoid this is by ordering a plain latte with almond milk. It will add flavor and cut sugar from the drink.

 Cafe Americano

An Americano consists of espresso shots and water. You can spice this drink up the same way with almond milk and a sugar free alternative of your choice. This naturally has a very rich and bold taste. So, if you’re not into that kind of coffee then this choice might not be for you.

 Tea

You can never go wrong with an unsweetened iced tea from Starbucks. The green, passion, and black tea are all delicious! But if you are looking to mix it up, you can order the teas mixed together to change up the flavor. The most popular version of this is half green/half passion tea. The natural sweetness the passion tea has helps add flavor to the green tea without being to sweet.

How to order:

“[Whatever size] iced, unsweetened, half passion, half green tea, please. “

 Unsweetened Tea lemonade

Another tea drink is half tea, half lemonade. You can get this with green, black or the passion tea. The lemonade concentrate also contains sugar but is healthier than the sweetened version of this drink and is very refreshing!

Skinny Vanilla or Cinnamon Dolce Latte With Nut Milk

The default milk used for the skinny vanilla late is nonfat milk.  So, by opting for almond instead you can cut down on the sugar and carbs that are in regular dairy milk.

 Skinny Mocha With Nut Milk

Made with sugar free mocha syrup, this is a go to for mocha lovers. Just note that the sugar free mocha is extremely bitter and is best served with a pack of stevia.

 Cold Brew

This drink is very similar to ice coffee but has a smoother flavor. Add in any of your favorite sugar free sweeteners and nut milks to spice it up or drink it alone for the healthiest version.

Unsweetened Passion Tango Tea With Coconut milk

Finally, this drink is on the Starbucks secret menu and is similar to the “Pink Drink” that became popular recently. This version is much healthier and is light in sugar. Just order a:

“[Whatever size] iced, unsweetened passion tango tea with coconut milk and add in freeze dried strawberries and/or berries. “

I hope this list helps give you some ideas on what to order the next time you’re at Starbucks. Leave a comment down below with any questions you may have or if you want to know how to make your favorite Starbucks drink healthier. I’d be happy to give any tips I may have!
