Sometimes making it to the gym is just out of the question. But that doesn’t mean you have to skip your workout. With these home gym essentials, you’ll be able to have a great workout all from the comfort of your own home!

Set of Dumbells –

Dumbbells are a must for any home gym. There are countless exercises you can do with them and they are a great option if you are short on space or cash. These dumbbells from Amazon are affordable and are a great set to start out with.

Stability balls can help make almost any exercise more challenging and they are great to help target your abs and improve your balance. I personally like sitting on mine while I’m on the computer because it helps target your core.

Ankle Weights-

Ankle weights are great for at home leg and glute workouts. They are also great to help add resistance to body workouts once you start getting used to them. I’d suggest getting a pair of adjustable ankle weights like these ones from Amazon. Having adjustable weights will allow you to go up and down in weight when necessary.

Resistance Bands-

Resistance bands are a perfect for home and hotel room workouts. They are so versatile and are great for travel since they hardly take up any room. Plus these are a must for muscle activation exercises, especially for glutes! You can get a full body workout with these resistance bands all from the comfort of your own home or you can throw them in your gym bag to use for muscle activation at the gym.

Exercise Mat-

These are a must for floor workouts, especially if you like to workout outside or have hard floors. They help make floor exercise more comfortable and keep you from sliding around if you have wooden floors.

Jump Rope-

Jumping rope is one of the best cardio workouts you can do at home because it burns a ton of calories. It’s also great for traveling since you can just throw it in your bag and go! Perfect for those who don’t feel like spending a ton of money on cardio equipment.

Step Platform

Another great piece of equipment for cardio workouts. Adding this in with most HIIT workouts will help make them more challenging and also helps tone the legs and butt!

Ab Wheel-

This works great for helping you get a tight and toned core. In fact, you can get a complete ab and core workout in only using one of these! It’s a perfect addition for all your home and gym workouts.

The possibilities with the Bosu ball are endless! You can use it to add intensity to your lower body workouts like squats and lunges or you can flip it over for a core and upper body workout. Plus it helps improve your balance!

Kettlebells-

Kettlebells are great because they have an easy to grasp handle which makes them perfect for combining cardio and strength training! Perfect for those short on time.

Having a barbell is a must if you’re solely working out from home. The reason for this is because as you get stronger you need to be able to continue to add weight to your workouts to challenge you. It’s a must for my leg days.

Wireless Bluetooth Headphones or Speakers-

A good workout starts with good music! Having a good speakers or headphones will help block out the rest of the world and get you pumped up and focused on your workout.

I have this pair of Beats and I absolutely love them! Great sound quality and worth the price to me.

I also have this pair of headphones and love them too. Pretty good sound quality and never had any issues connecting to Bluetooth.

Foam Roller-

You’re definitely going to need one of these before and after your home workouts. Foam rollers are great for warming up muscles before you workout and they are even better for helping roll out those sore muscles you get post workout.

Message Balls-

Message balls are a must for sore post workout feet. Message balls are great for the feet or in between the shoulder blades. I use mine every day and they really do help make a difference. I have a set similar to this one from Amazon and they really are worth it. I’ve also used tennis and golf balls and they work great as well.
