Salted Caramel Mocha lattes are my go to drink during the holiday season. The only issue is the outrageous amount of calories and sugar they contain. In an effort to cut back on sugar and save my waistline this year I decided to come up with my own healthier version of the drink. Its still just as delicious but contains almost no sugar!
Ingredients
8 oz Toffeenut K cups
1 tablespoon Torani sugar-free salted caramel syrup
2 tablespoons Hershey’s sugar-free chocolate chips
2 oz Almond milk or any milk of your choice
Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
Sugar-free caramel sauce, for topping
Sea salt, for topping
InstructionsÂ
1. Melt the sugar free chocolate chips in microwave. I microwave in 30 second intervals until completely melted. Add in sugar-free salted caramel syrup and stir in coffee.
2. Microwave Almond milk to desired temperature. Stir into coffee mixture.
3. Top with whipped cream, sugar-free caramel sauce, and a pinch of sea salt.
If you want your drink to taste similar to the Starbucks salted caramel mocha then toffee nut coffee is necessary because Starbucks actually puts toffee nut syrup in their salted caramel mocha’s. You can also buy the toffee nut syrup from Starbucks as well but its not sugar free which is why I prefer to use the toffee nut flavored coffee instead. I also buy all of my Torani syrups from Walmart and Smart & Final but you can order them online also.
The sugar free syrups can be used for teas, coffees, hot chocolates and yummy desserts.
